Indian head Massage or ‘Champissage’ has been practised for over 1000 years in India and is featured as far back as 4,000 years ago in Ayurvedic texts. Massage in many parts of India is part of a daily family life and culture and is passed onto generations. Narendra Mehta brought the techniques used all over India to England in the 1970’s and the therapy was launched in 1981. It combines massage of the back, neck and shoulders as well as deeply relaxing pressures on the head and face. After an Indian Head massage you may feel sleepy, warm or emotional. It is important you get up afterwards gently and gradually to avoid any light headedness.
